I am looking for some recommendations of Christian children's music. Our kids are 4 and almost 2.
We like these four but they are old enough that I listened to them as a kid:
Psalty Kid's Praise! 3 – Funtastic Family by Ernie Rettino and Debby Rettino (Audio CD)
Our kids love this album by The Wiggles (not Christian).
Does anyone recommend the other Kids' Praise albums?
Psalty Kid's Praise! 4 – Singsational Servants by Ernie Rettino and Debby Rettino (Audio CD)
Psalty Kid's Praise! 5 – Psalty's Camping Adventure by Ernie Rettino and Debby Rettino (Audio CD)
Psalty Kid's Praise! 6 – Heart to Change the World by Ernie Rettino and Debby Rettino (Audio CD)
Psalty Kid's Praise! 7 – Psalty's Hymnological Adventure Through Time by Ernie Rettino and Debby Rettino (Audio CD)
Psalty's Funtastic Praise Party! by Ernie Rettino and Psalty (Audio CD – 1995)
Salvation Celebration! by Psalty's Kids & Co. (Audio CD – 1994)
I also remember these from my childhood:
Bullfrogs & Butterflies 4-CD Set by Agapeland (Author) (Audio CD – 2006) – Original recording remastered
Here are a few sample recommendations from Christian Music Today provided by ChristianityToday.com that might jog some memories about what is out there.
The Best Christian Children's Albums of 2007
The Best Christian Children's Albums of 2006
The Best Christian Children's Albums of 2005
The Best Christian Children's Albums of 2004
But what would you recommend?
P.S. A lot of church libraries including ours have a selection of kids' CDs.

Buddy Davis – awesome creation songs…

Grace was given GT and the Halo Express CDs by one of my student friends and I love them. I found them slightly cheesy at first, but they’re all Scripture and have a theme story to unite them, explain the verses and help with application. We listen to them a lot.
What a great question! Gotta admit…. our kiddos are usually found most frequently listening to our worship music right along with us and singing right along with us, too (Crowder, Tomlin, Redman, etc.) However, as far as kid specific stuff, we love most everything from the Rethink group (rethinkgroup.org). Incredible, incredible stuff for families….. we use a lot of their stuff in our home including the virtue packs.
Hi Amy/Andy,
Greetings from Regent!
We’ve got some of the ones above, and our kids generally like them. My favorites (as well as theirs) are the Seeds CDs – they’re bible songs, but good quality music – see them in iTunes. Seeds of Courage, Seeds of Faith, etc. For your kids age group, I’d also recommend the Steve Green “Hide Them in Your Heart” – buy them in CD format, since it includes a DVD with the songs. Younger kids like the DVD.
Hope your well!
Hey Andy & Amy,
Our kids like to listen to Veggie Tales CD’s. They have a few that are worship song cd’s sung by the veggie tales. They love it.
Hi Andy,
My wife recorded 2 albums for kids. We think they’re a cut above.

Don’t forget, your name and which CD’s you want. Address helps too! 🙂
What great recommendations from everyone. I wish we could afford to buy all of them. Maybe the church library could get some of them!
Andy,
What a great idea. The Blacknall library does have some of these [or had cassettes of them in the past!]. I’ll admit it’s hard to find great kids’ Christian CDs that aren’t too smarmy or too hard for kids to follow along. I’ll try to add some of these to my purchasing list and send you a list of what we do have.
Some that stand out in my mind:
Deliberate Kids by Phil Joel [of the Newsboys]
Yo Kids! by Carman
most of the Veggie Tales CDs
Hide ’em in Your Heart by Steve Green
Thanks for the other suggestions!
Great blog! It’s always so nice to be inspired
