Here are the books I just requested–again recommended by Jim Trelease. (I am basically keeping the list for my own records and because it is easy to copy and paste online from the Durham County Library and I assume it is possible someone would be curious for good books). These posts are in my Library Books category. We are pleased with 90% of the books we get from the library because they come recommended from solid sources so I am basically recommending the books we have gotten from the library. It is more fun to read as parents when you have a steady stream of new books and if they have the variety and quality that comes from someone recommending them rather than just grabbing stuff off the shelf randomly. It also makes you a more sympathetic reader. We have the phenomenon: "Someone recommended this? If so, I will try to look harder for what is good about it. Oh, ok, it is growing on me. I can see that there is some good stuff here."
